Series Description
The PW Series Passive Infrared Sensor (PIR) features the finest PIR technology. These infrared sensors detect occupancy by responding to the difference between heat emitted from the human body in motion and the background space. UW Series Passive Ultrasonic Occupancy Sensors detect an occupant by transmitting ultrasonic sound waves throughout an area and measuring the speed at which they return. Occupant movement changes the frequency at which these sound waves return, resulting in a Doppler shift and occupancy detection. DW Series Dual Technology Occupancy Sensors combine the best of both PIR and ultrasonic sensor technologies. While PIR and ultrasonic provide optimal control for many spaces, some applications pose difficulty for single technology products. Dual technology sensors ensure maximum sensitivity and coverage in tough applications for optimal reliability and energy savings. Each of these sensors types are proven performers in building automation systems, BAS, and HVAC applications.
